WELCOME TO SUE'S WORLD

Thank you for visiting my world in Mississippi. My purpose

IT'S MARDI GRAS TIME

Yep, Mardi Gras is here in full swing on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Parades every weekend everywhere. Beads are flying and people begging "Mister throw me something". And they do.
We here at the Brame house usually have visitors, mostly from Tennessee to check it out and take back as many colorful beads as possible! Usually it's someone from my side of the family and I have missed them terribly this year but this year Lex's cousin Cindy, her daughter Catherine from Franklin came. Also the twins, Abby and Ben. They are the children of Lex's cousin Thomas and Missy from Laurel Ms. I have pictures on the way and will post them by next week hopefully. They had a really good time I think and I had fun just watching them. Weather was wonderful too. It's always just "Sunshine and Blue Skys" around here. Well, everyone has gone home now and it's too quiet around here. All the guest rooms are cleaned and ready for company. Call for reservations anytime! (oh, except between march 9 thru 14. We are going on a Cruise!)

  1. I'm so sad we can't be there this year. I'm jealous of all the fun you'll be having! I miss you

  2. LOL I don't need to travel to see parades. I too live in a parade community. Granted we don't do up the Mardi Gras aspect of them too much. We have Gasparilla. It's a pirate themed month of parades, and parties and parades and fundraisers and parades and even marathons with parades, and film festivals with parades. Unfortunately, we had to miss all of the Gasparilla goodness this year. Between our schedules and the extra visitors thanks to the SuperBowl, we weren't brave enough to venture to downtown Tampa. But last night we did hit out local little hometown Mardi Gras parade. Great fun was had, lotsa beads were caught and we were home and in bed in time for the President's speech! The boys were very excited by the the fact that the Fleur de Lis that the scouts use is also used by the Mardi Gras people. So now they have BudLight Cub Scout beads! LOL

About Me

We live on the Ms. Gulf Coast now but my roots and many special memories are in Tenessee where we raised our 2 sons. (Who now live in Oregon) It's where most of my family is and my special friends. I sold real estate there for 20 years. Now I am retired and my new husband of 13 years live on the coast. He has a son and daughter in Texas and we try to go a couple times a year to Oregon and Texas. Lex and I are blessed with great kids, good health & a good life!
