WOW! One of our favorite festivals down here in "Cajun Country". It's packed with great foods, (not the healthy kind) wonderful arts and crafts from the locals and believe me they are talented, artsy people down here! The big event however is all the classic old sail boats that are docked all along the bank of the Tchefuncte River. (can you pronounce that?) These are large sail boats that have been preserved or restored and are really awesome vessels! One of the fun events is the "Quick 'N Dirty boat building event. It's made up of 10 teams, 4 young guys to a team, that have 24 hours to build a little boat that they can row up the river and under the bridge and hope it doesn't sink. Sometimes it does and they have to send the seadoos out to pick them up. This is a fun, family event that I am sure everyone would enjoy.
